The VIP-presentation "Digital cinematography: Here and Now!", organized by the companies: ROSAR multimedia, ERA, JVC and D DATA Inc. was held in the Moscow club "OZON" on December 22, 2003.
During presentation it was possible not only to see, what the digital cinemas and videotechnologies are able to
do, but also to familiarize with the real offers on organization of high definition digital cinema distribution network, including the basic components: content, source and display system.

The following persons have had reports: Mr. G. Gadiyan from ERA company, Mr. E. Burgard (vice-president of JVC Europe), Mr. S. Bazhenov from ROSAR multimedia company, Mr. G. Emrich, Mr. A. Wodok from JVC, Mr. I. Diskin from D DATA Inc. Mr. Gerasim Gadiyan has opened and conducted the presentation. It was noticed during the reports, that on the today's moment in Russia there are all real opportunities to provide the whole closed chain for creation of digital cinematography, beginning from content in the digital form and finishing with showing, and creation of a network of digital cinemas.
Last preparations before the beginning of the show
The showing materials of the domestic and foreign manufacturers were included in the program of presentation on 9 meters wide screen in hall equipped with Dolby Digital sound. Following devices were used as signal sources: the videorecorder HDCAM from Sony, DMD-videoplayer from D DATA Inc, videorecorder D-VHS from JVC, computer. The showings were executed from projectors based on D-ILA technology form JVC - DLA-SX21 (with resolution SXGA+, 1400õ1050) and DLA-QX1, the best in the world projector for cinema and for presentations, having real resolution 2K (2048x1536).
"On the today's moment in Russia there are all real opportunities to provide complete closed chain for creation of digital cinematography" - it was illustratively shown during the presentation of Mr. Gadiyan.
During the presentation the various application areas of display complexes of high definition materials, including digital cinemas for 30-300 seats with width of the screen up to 8 meters were presented; multiplexes; the entertaining centres with high-quality presentations.
The top producers, experts of the firms - manufacturers JVC, D DATA Inc, scientists, representatives of the Ministry of Russian Federation on press, telebroadcasting and mass communication facilities, Ministry of culture of Russian Federation, Ministry of Communications of Russian Federation conducting cinemas and tele directors, experts teleradiocompanies, representatives of distribution organizations have taken part in the presentation.
The participants of presentation have noted, that the time of digital cinema has come in Russia, and not only technical base, which was evidently shown during presentation, but also content are available. The inexpensive medias - D-VHS cassettes and DMD-disks, from which the part of showing was actualized were appreciated. Visitors have marked the highest quality of the projective equipment, naturalness of colour rendering, ability to display even the smallest detail swith high accuracy, colour and light solutions, which have precisely emphasized magnificent job of the operators and directors.
