Press conference of firm ERA on IBC'2000
Speech of Mr. Vadim Milekhin, Sony Marketing Communications Manager
Good afternoon.
I wasn't prepared to make a speech here, today, but I thought that I must say a couple of words. I would not pretend to be a John Ive, who is not here, but as a person, working for Sony for more than six years in Russia, and being at the know of the problems which the industry is facing, I think it's necessary to express my opinion about this project, about the company which we all admire, really, which we all love, and its president Mr. Gadiyan personally.
To be short - I wouldn't make a long speech, I just wanted to say that … I would like to introduce sort of a statement in this praising speech about this project. Everyone said that this is a great thing by itself, and it is really, really big, because this is the first example of a systematic approach to chaotic processes in this field in our country and big market in Russia and CIS. But another aspect of this is the practical implementation of this system into life, as so far we don't have any practical examples, I think, about how it works, about the systems which have been commissioned basing on this interactive Internet project. Until then I think it is very hard to 100% be sure about success, but on the other hand, since it is the biggest attempt to improve the situation with systems integration for broadcasters in CIS and Russia, I think, that we, as a representative office of the biggest manufacture of broadcasting equipment in the world, I think that we are strongly interested in having such Russian companies, such partners who are concentrated seriously on these issues in Russia. Because we are all facing big developments in the broadcasting industry, and we are all witnessing at this IBC exhibition that really the industry now in the turning point of its development in a switch from broadcast to "anycast" world.
And the system integration, the system solutions are becoming the key point of real activities of serious companies which want to take care about customers for real, which want to support them, which don't want just to trade black boxes and forget about the needs of the customers in the future. While I have been observing ERA company for several yeas too, I can say that this company is the last one to look like a trader not caring about customers. I mean that this is one of the most serious companies throughout the world, always been taking care about technical support, about their customers needs, about service, about training, and they have been making a lot of investments, I know, into these programs, not like any other organisation of this kind in Russia. That is why, personally, I myself want to greet the project, and want to congratulate you with your braveness, with your step of implementing the system, and I do hope that we will be able to make strong partners and systems integration in Russia.
If you succeed in practical implementation of this system in the next months, and if you need our help, we are really ready to render any technical expertise and technical consulting concerning Sony products, and we will be happy to have you as a strong partner, reliable partner in system integration projects in Russia.
Thank you very much |
