What can we see now?
Every day, thousands of engineers and managers in TV/radio companies try to do the same. From thousands of models, among dozens of formats, broadcast systems and interface standards, they have to select optimal hardware configuration. The one which would meet all their technical and budget requirements. And besides, all components of which would work be totally compatible. And which would be expandable in the future.
The System is intended to provide the highest efficiency at the stage of design and making decisions on TV/Radio broadcast equipment integration. Spend 5 minutes, answer 3 or 4 questions, and you are able to integrate optimal ENG sets, Radio News Gathering sets, NLE suites, and radio studios. You need not waste time to survey and evaluate hundreds of versions - the system itself will select and offer you the configuration most suitable to your technical and financial demands. Would you like it, the set may be modified as many times as you need.
The system generalizes and combines into operational complexes the technical information from dozens of manufactures.
Practically, the system is affordable to everyone. It is designed for both the beginners and highly skilled experts.
As a launch promotion, the system is free, although in future, there will be a charge for its use.
What categories of staff is it designed for?
These are:
- TV/radio broadcast companies engineers;
- Beginners in TV/radio technologies;
- System integrators' staff;
- Students and extension courses listeners;
- TV/radio companies management;
What does the System offer?
- First, one can take all the advantages of Internet usage, that is: working on-line, including payment on-line (in prospect), independence of time and venue.
- The second is that just in minutes the system will allow you to select configuration of your TV or radio facility to meet your own preferences. To date, the system features more than one million of possible hardware configurations.
- Should you wish, you can change selected configuration up to a separate item.
- And if you are modernizing an existing studio, the system will provide technically sound components list.
- The System makes it possible to evaluate the budget required for a selected equipment set.
- It enables teaching, including self-instructed studies of how to form Radio/TV broadcast facilities.
Let us consider an example of interactive integration of Electronic News Gathering (ENG) set.
Just within two interactive steps we can generate components list for an ENG set.
At the first one, we have to select video recording format and items to be included into the set. Let us select DVCAM, for example.
There are eight items of the composition:
- Video camera and accessories;
- Power supply pack;
- On-camera light set;
- Tripod; Soft & Rigid Cases;
- Microphone set;
- Main-powered light set;
- Mobile editing set.
Let us mark all these items.
The camera type to be the basis of the set is defined at the second stage. Let it be DSR-300 APK. On receiving answers to all the questions, the system will propose operational configuration of the ENG equipment set. When desired, we are able to change any item.
The System is gradually updating to follow new products in the market.
The System is available on our Web sites both in English and Russian versions.
We offer also the Technician's Manual, which is now ready and will be available on-line just after IBC.
What kinds of facilities are covered?
Today we regard four ones. These are:
- Nonlinear editing systems and Computer graphics stations
- ENG equipment sets (we just analyzed the example)
- Radio news/reporting Production sets
- Radio studios
Much more is being planned. To look forward, we can speak about creating the global interactive Internet-based system. The system for design and expert evaluation of versatile technical complexes in TV/radio broadcasting and adjacent fields.
To carry out the project within short term, wide support of all the interested parts is needed. Probably, your organizations will be interested in it.
Thank you very much for your attention.
